Program Supervisor

After you submit your application online we will review and if eligible for the program you will be sent an email with a link to finalise your application and introduce you to to your program supervisor. This program supervisor will be your point of contact throughout the program for any questions or queries you have.

Visas

When travelling to another country to travel, work or study you need some kind of visa and travel authorisation for the program you are doing. Every program has a list of eligible countries and age limits which are often dictated by visa rules in the destination country. We will assist you through the visa process and when you become a member you will receive a visa manual to help you navigate the visa application process. For more information on visas click here.

Placement Interview(s)

If you are taking a program that includes a placement, then when you have been accepted as a member and paid your $49.00 program deposit you will be able to schedule an interview with your placement supervisor. This person is a specialist in their field and will interview you to find out more about your experience, expectations and to ensure we find a suitable placement for you. When you schedule the appointment you will receive an automatic Zoom link to connect to at the agreed time. This is a great chance to ask any more questions you have before we start to introduce you to prospective host companies or families. When we introduce you to host companies or families the interviews may be via skype, zoom, Whats App or Phone. We will prepare you for interviews and make sure you have all the tools to be successful. If unsuccessful we will continue to search for placement according with the terms and conditions of the program.

Travel planning

We recommend you look at Skyscanner.com for the best flights and advise you to book wither via a trustworthy travel agency or directly with the airline (and not via a third party travel booking site). We also recommend you book a flexible fare as most people that travel tend to want to stay longer in our destinations if possible.

In each of our destinations we have arrangements with the best youth and backpacker bus companies, camper-van rentals, and activity packages so watch out for our travel manuals in the membership site and let us know if you want to book any tours in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Central and South America, South East Asia or the Pacific Islands.

Itineraries

We aim to make the travel and arrival process as simple as possible. After you’ve received your host agreement(s) and have submitted your flight arrival details, we will create a custom travel itinerary. You’ll receive information regarding customs, immigration, health screenings and general arrival information. If you have booked any of our arrival packages, homestay accommodation, student hostel accommodation or language schools you will also receive the booking numbers and travel instructions.

Work and Travel Members Lounge

When your program fees have been paid you will become a program member with your own login. Inside the Work and Travel members lounge you will have access to important program information related to visas, insurance, fights, accommodation other useful manuals and current job listings on our members only job board.

Orientations

All participants on all our programs are able to participate in our weekly orientations in Vancouver, Sydney or Auckland. this is a great chance to meet other people doing similar programs at the same time as well. Many participants get connected and plan weekend trips and after work activities together. The orientation provides information about travel around the local city and the country and you will also get advice advice about phones, sim cards, bank accounts, tax numbers and other useful information. For those on programs where you are looking for work, you will get a thorough finding work orientation. You will receive information about the orientation date, time and location in your arrival or placement package.

Social events and activities

Travelling to a new location is always exciting – but it can be a challenge not knowing anybody to start with. To help you feel more at home, we’ll introduce you to other participants at your orientation sessions and through our members lounge. We often hold BBQ’s or go ten pin bowling, recommend bar crawls and put together weekend trips away. We do not want you to get lonely and will ensure you meet people and do things while you are in your destination.

Emergency Support

We have 24/7 Emergency support phone number in each of our destinations. this will be given to you in your arrival package and in your members lounge.

Arrival packages

Most of our international programs include a 3 night arrival package, including Airport Transfer, 3 nights Hostel accommodation, Breakfast, WIFI, Welcome Orientation and additional services depending on location such as; Group walks, lunch, drink vouchers, social events, towel hire, luggage storage + more.
