Generally, you should help out for about 5-7 hours per day, not including basic activities like cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping. Some participants prefer to help out more when it’s busy on the farm and have more free time when it’s quiet.

Your tasks will depend on your experience and motivations, as well as what your host needs at the time (depending on season, type of farm etc.). The basic farm types we offer are: farms with horses, livestock farms, and general/mixed farms (including non-animal farms, orchards, vineyards). You can read more about each of these types in the farm program outline.

Our Farmstay program is an opportunity to live on a working farm and gain a sense of farming life.
